Method

We use many methods that are adapted to suit your needs. Telephoning is a specific skill that is necessary in this business. Confidence on the telephone comes from thorough knowledge of the vocabulary, structures and grammar in the language you are using so this course is not a substitute for face to face courses but a course to practice the specific language and structures necessary to communicate on the phone. All courses are available in the major European languages. Available as an individual or group course.

Objective

To improve your confidence and fluency on the telephone to enable to you, no matter what your level, to pick up the phone and begin a conversation.

Content

You will practice the language of telephoning by studying grammar, vocabulary, written and oral expression and oral exercises in the proportions that you need to achieve your objectives. This is tailored to the level and requirements of the individual. Emphasis will be placed on spelling, pronunciation, numbers and accuracy from the beginning unless the level of the participant is such that this is not required.

We make use of electronic messenger software to give instant feedback and help to make sentences as well as spell and correct vocabulary as necessary. We work with whatever messenger software you currently use yahoo, msn, skype etc. Calls take place on the phone with corrections on the messenger software. If you do not run messenger software on your computer we will summarize vocabulary and grammar in an email at the end of each call.

Assessment/Evaluation

You will be given an oral test before the course begins. At the mid-way point we will assess you again to make sure your objectives and expectations are being met then at the end of the course you will have a final assessment.

Reporting

A written certificate of participation is sent or given at the end of the course.

Level of participants

From A2 to C2. Even relatively low level participants can be using the telephone effectively in a short period of time. If you are unsure of your level please visit our self assessment page.

Timetable

Individual lessons by telephone. Lessons can be 30 minutes up to 1 hour 30 minutes depending on requirements.
